Genalysis Laboratory Services Pty Ltd was founded in 1975 in Perth, Western Australia by Terry and Tena Wheeler. Terry relied on his excellent grounding and experience as Chief Chemist with Western Mining Corporation at their Kambalda Nickel Operations. Genalysis has now grown to an organisation of more than 300 staff, analyzing over 1,000,000 samples per year.

With state of the art instrumentation and a team of dedicated staff, Genalysis has earned a world wide reputation in the provision of quality analytical services.

Genalysis has its headquarters in the suburb of Maddington, just 30 minutes from the central business district of Perth. All analytical work conducted by Genalysis is carried out in one large centralised laboratory facility. This means that all our expertise is "under one roof", enhancing quality control.

In addition to its sample preparation facility at Maddington, Genalysis has established sample preparation operations in Kalgoorlie and Adelaide (Australia) and Johnannesburg (South Africa). All offering separate and dedicated low-level and ore-grade facilities. The pulps from all sites are expedited to Maddington for analysis.

The Maddington Head Office and Laboratory has an extensive range of facilities including dedicated low-level preparation (including a Robotic Sample Prep), digestion laboratories (including Bulk Cyanide Leach, Partial Leach Technology, Aqua Regia, Fire Assay) and state-of-the-art instrumentation including ICP-OES and ICP-MS, Atomic Absorption Spectrometry and Automated XRF.

In April 2007 Genalysis was acquired by the Intertek group. Intertek provides analytical services to the world's mineral, ore and mining industries with facilities in Indonesia, China, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Brazil and North America.
