Fuel Testing for Motorsports

Intertek supports motorsport integrity and fairness by testing the fuel at events including MotoGP, WRC, WEC, 24H Le Mans and more

Intertek has been a partner of motorsports for several years. Today, we’re involved in most of the major racing events globally, acting as the official testing body, on behalf of the regulator or the racing organisation. Our Intertek teams are present at car and motorcycle races around the world where they sample and test the fuel used during the competition for homologation. The tests are carried out on site, at the race track with portable equipment, or at our laboratories, to provide assurance on fuel quality and consistency. We do it with precision, pace and passion, thus enabling drivers, pilots and mechanics to power ahead safely, and at high speed!

Intertek’s analytical assessment team is proud to be an essential part of famous competitions organised by the FIM including MotoGP, MotoCross and Endurance, and car racing such as WRC, WEC and ERC, including legendary races such as Silverstone and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In total, Intertek is involved in nearly 100 races around the world and tests several hundred samples for race fuel homologation in our specialised laboratories in the UK, Germany and Switzerland.
