Intertek achieves Airbus accreditation for aerospace chemical testing

Derby, United Kingdom – Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider to industries worldwide, has achieved Airbus accreditation for chemical testing that supports aerospace process treatment solutions.
Intertek’s aerospace materials and chemical testing laboratory in Derby, UK, is now Airbus approved to perform a series of chemical analysis and tests which are key to monitoring the quality and status of chemical treatment processes used in aerospace manufacturing, thereby helping clients to ensure that processes remain within specification. This approval means that Intertek Derby is now able to perform these tests to support any manufacturers in the Airbus supply chain.
Dr Neil Cook, Laboratory Manager, Intertek Derby said: “The Airbus accreditation is an important step in developing our capabilities to directly meet customers’ needs for high quality materials and chemical testing services supporting the entire aerospace supply chain.”
The Intertek Derby location also achieved Nadcap accreditation for materials testing of thermally sprayed coating in 2012 and further Nadcap accreditation for materials and chemistry testing in June 2013.
These latest Nadcap accreditations are complimentary to those already held by the Derby-based Intertek Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) facility, who are one of the first NDT companies to gain this accreditation and currently have accreditations in NDT, Chemical Processing and Aerospace Quality Systems.
