(Bismarck, North Dakota) Intertek, a leading testing services provider to industries worldwide, now provides crude oil vapor testing services to help North Dakota crude oil producers comply with the upcoming North Dakota Industrial Commission, Department of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas Division Rule Order 25417.

Starting April 1, 2015, North Dakota crude oil producers must ensure the vapor pressure in the crude oils they are loading for transportation is less than 13.7 (psi) pounds per square inch.

Intertek is ready to help with experienced local people, a state-of-the-art laboratory, and convenient state-wide field services ready to efficiently sample and test crude oils for vapor pressure before transportation loading, in accordance with NDIC Rule Order 25417.

Intertek measures VPCRx (crude oil vapor pressure) using the ASTM D6377 test method. Sampling is conducted using the ASTM D5842 and ASTM D3700 sampling methods to help ensure representative samples are obtained. Intertek provides light-ends analysis by gas chromatography to measure treatment efficiencies.

Under the NDIC Rule program, quarterly sampling and testing are required. Intertek provides fast turnaround and reporting, within 15 days of the testing date. The report contains a screenshot of the VPCRx test conducted. Clients can obtain their test data through a secure website portal, with data management and trending services available.
