Intertek Caleb Brett Provides Quality Assurance Solution for Technokontrol

Bilbao, Spain - Intertek, a Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, recently collaborated with Technokontrol to assess the properties of fuels that comes into contact with client’s fireproof safety system.
Technokontrol, a Spanish company specializing in the development of safety and environmental technologies, has developed an alloy mesh (TK alloy) whose aim is to improve the security of people and facilities in high risk areas. The TK alloy, approved by NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and ExxonMobil, reduces the speed of reaction of physical-mechanical factors that might cause explosions in fuel tanks containing liquid or gaseous petroleum or chemical products which are exposed to temperatures of up to 850ºC for over eight and a half hours.
With 25-year track record of leading the oil and gas industry with quality and quantity assurance, Intertek Caleb Brett Bilbao, an ISO 17025 accredited Laboratory that specializes in quality testing and control across a broad range of petroleum products, performed a one-year study to verify that the properties of hydrocarbons, such as volatility, are unchanged when the product comes into contact with TK alloy. Intertek's Total Quality Assurance experts also determined the evaporation reduction percentage of the hydrocarbons contained in the tank. The aim of the study was to ensure that the product’s quality was not altered and maintains its specific features.
