Exporting Electrical products to Ghana – Enforcement of Energy Efficiency Standards and Regulation

In view of the Government of Ghana’s intention to protect the environment and safeguard the health of its citizens from the harmful effects of air pollution caused by increased power generation and consumption, the Energy Commission of Ghana has enforced the Energy Efficiency Standards and Labelling Regulations which is effective from 1st November 2023.

This regulation mandates the enforcement of applicable Standards and Labelling of Electrical appliances, the obligation of the supplier to provide product information sheets, and have their products registered in the ‘Appliance Energy Efficiency Register’ of the Ghana Energy Commission.
