ETL Refurbishment Program

Total Quality Assurance for reconditioned products to adhere to National Electric Code requirements

Changes issued under NFPA 70 – 2020, the U.S. National Electric Code, require that when a certified product is reconditioned or refurbished, the original certification mark must be removed, the product must be released with new model and serial numbers, and this product must be reassessed and recertified with a label reflecting its reconditioned nature.

Intertek’s ETL refurbishment program provides manufacturers, vendors, or original applicants with a solution for evaluating products that previously received ETL certification, listing, or recognition. With extensive experience and knowledge in evaluating and certifying electrical products, we can help get refurbished products to market quickly and efficiently.

Products that comply with all applicable safety standards, based on testing of sample products, are eligible to bear the ETL Listed Mark for refurbished products. As a global leader in the testing, inspection, and certification of electrical products to ensure compliance to regulatory standards, and more than a century of experience, we can help you get your product to market faster.
